The History Option is offered to all the students of the University who are interested in taking elective credits in the field of History. It is meant to provide students with the basic tools to understand the most relevant historic phenomena, and introduce themto the main theoretic-methodological advances made over the last few decades. This Option favors historic criticism and analysis through research.
The program consists of five courses (15 credits), distributed in three areas as follows:
- Historic Processes: 3 courses (9 credits) chosen from any of the three regional subsections: Colombia, Latin America and the World).
- Theoretic-methodological: One course (3 credits) chosen from any of the 6 courses in this area.
- Research Area: One course (3 credits).
- Students can choose from a broad range of courses in each area.
As a reminder, the mandatory courses of each program of study cannot be taken as part of the Option. Therefore, for programs such as Anthropology, the courses of Ethnic History and Colombian Geography are not valid.
