Political Science Option

Description

The purpose of this Option is for students from other academic units to get to know domestic as well as international politics, depending on the concentration courses they choose:

  • Colombian Politics
  • International Relations
  • Compared Politics
  • Political Theory and Philosophy

The Option is intended to provide students from other programs with a view of Political Science in order to play a role in students obtaining a solid understanding of the discipline. This contributes to their comprehensive training and provides an understanding of political problems, viewing them from the international, compared and domestic perspective and based on political philosophy.

Program Structure

This Option has a flexible structure that enables students to choose among the four categories (topic lines) proposed, depending on their interest. The Option consists of five courses (15 credits), distributed as follows: One mandatory course (3 credits) and four elective courses (12 credits). Students taking this Option shall first select the category (basic theme) of their interest and, with the assistance of the Option Coordinator, the courses that make up the corresponding sequence. The categories are:

  • Colombian Politics
  • International Relations
